Make it a Powerful week and kick some Success Killer ass!!!!!!!

Good Morning MOJO,

Fear…Anxiety…Worry = Success Killer

Now days, those 3 feelings are what most of us are living with every day.  Unfortunately, many are totally consumed with them everyday.  Trust me…I know it is tough and can be exhausting, but if we let these 3 feelings control our life and our decisions, we will never get what we want…and worse yet, the more we focus on them the worse it gets.  Now more than ever, we all need to work on our mental toughness and that starts with taking care of ourselves…taking care of our health, our minds, our relationships, our spirituality, etc.  We need to take care of those things we actually have control over instead of obsessing about those things we have no control over, because if we are feeling good about those things we have control over it will carry over into the other areas of our life and help squash the Success Killer.

Don’t let the Fear, Worry and Anxiety consume you or it will disable you…it will not only stop us from moving forward, but it will actually cause us to slip back.  So, focus on your mental toughness…focus on improving those areas of our lives we have control over and don’t let the Fear, Anxiety and Worry hold us back.  Because if we do, we will never get what we want and the success killer will win.

Make it a Powerful week and kick some Success Killer ass!!!!!!!

It is those who can keep a level head in the great times and keep a level head in the challenging times that finish up winners.

Good Morning MOJO,

Man…I had to talk a lot of people off the ledge last week before they jumped from panic and fear.  It is so interesting to me how people can’t help but “pile on”.  When things are going great they “pile on” and see the glass as not only half full but overflowing…and when things are not going so great, those same people “pile on” and see the glass as not only half empty, but dry as a bone.  It is either euphoria and greed or panic and fear.  But, it is those who can keep a level head in the great times and keep a level head in the challenging times that finish up winners.  It is those who can keep their eye on their longer term goals and not let the crazy short term ups and downs of life get them off track.  We cannot let euphoria and greed or panic and fear control us…if we do, we will make bad short term decisions which will sabotage our long term goals.  Not just in our finances, but with everything in life.

This past week was a perfect example of that with the stock market…”the world is coming to an end”…GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!  I have seen this story before (late 1980s, early 1990’s, early 2000’s and now in the late 2000’s)…everyone is selling for no other reason than because everyone else is selling (piling on) and so we are in a vicious cycle of panic and fear.  I promise you there are those level headed people sitting on the sidelines watching all of this unfolding before their eyes, licking their chops, just waiting to pounce (and they will soon) when all of those who are driven by panic and fear finish selling/“piling on” creating one of the best buying opportunities in history.  And once they do, those level headed people will come in like vultures and make a fortune capitalizing on it.  We all have such short term memories…it has happened time and time again in history, but we seem to forget.  And every time, it is like this has never happened before…”The world is coming to an end”.  “The world is coming to an end” mindset has happened before and it will happen again…just don’t be one of those that “piles on”.   One thing I have discovered over the years is when things are going great it is never as good as it seems and when things are not going so great it is never as bad as it seems.  The key is not to buy into the drama…don’t get sucked in and “pile on” whether it is a euphoria and greed pile or a panic and fear pile.  The key is to keep a level head…it is the difference between winners and losers.   It is what makes the great ones great…Michael Jordan, Warren Buffett, Tiger Woods, Bill Gates, Joe Montana.  They don’t just “PILE ON” with everyone else…they keep their cool and keep a level head.  Don’t “pile on” and be a loser…BE A WINNER!!!!

Make it a POWERFUL week…keep a level head….be STRONG…don’t “pile on” and KICK SOME ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is so interesting to me that for most people, the pain of work, discipline and accountability…the pain of doing what needs to be done is worse than the pain of regret and the pain of living a so so life…a just getting by life.

Good Morning MOJO,

Last week I was talking with, Scott Chase, a VP of our mortgage company, about what it takes to be successful.  In our jobs it is our responsibility to push people…to inspire people…to get people to do more than they are comfortable with so they can achieve supreme success.  It is our jobs to be the example of how to work…of how to live.  And many times it can be a very frustrating thing when you see a talented person who has all the gifts…the smarts…the God given talents, but does not have the X factor.  And so the story goes….do you know this guy below?  Hopefully not too well.

He’s a 9 to 5er but for some crazy reason actually expects to make the same kind of money as the guy in the cube next to him that works 7am to 7pm.  He has all the excuses in the world for the reason he is not as successful as he wants to be…it’s the market, it’s my company, it’s my spouse, it’s my kids, its my….  Plug in whatever you want for the excuse, but the bottom line is its MY WORK ETHIC plain and simple.  Most people are not willing to put in the hours and they are not willing to do those things the 7 to 7ers are doing.  They show up, play grab ass, surf the web, hang at the water cooler, ping their friends jokes, talk about how great they are and do whatever they can to get through the day without actually sucking it up and doing what they need to do to be successful.  Then they look for someone to blame.  LOOK IN THE MIRROR…yell at that guy…he is the one stopping you.  Nothing else, period!!!!!  We all can keep busy during the day doing stuff, but those who are successful do the tough stuff…the stuff others are not willing to do.   The bottom line is those who are tremendously successful put in the extra hours, work their ass off, are incredibly discipline and are willing to do whatever needs to be done to be successful period…not just what they want to do…not just the bare minimum.  Typically the harder it is to do something the greater the reward…the more money you will make doing it…the more healthy you will be…the better your relationships will be…the more successful you will be at whatever it is you are doing.

It is so interesting to me that for most people, the pain of work, discipline and accountability…the pain of doing what needs to be done is worse than the pain of regret and the pain of living a so so life…a just getting by life.  Don’t take the path of least resistance…there is nothing there that you want.  Roll up your sleeves and attack your job…attack your health…attack your life and you will be successful.  We have to out work them and do those things most are not willing to do to be successful.  When we do that we will kick some ass and be a Rockstar at whatever it is we do…student, teacher, parent, ditch digger, athlete, sales person, executive…  It does not matter what it is….work harder, work longer and do what others are not willing to do in life and reap the rewards.  Success is hiding in those couple of hours no one else is willing to work…success is hiding in that last phone call when you don’t want to make it and everyone has turned off the lights and gone home….it is in the last rep when you cannot do one more.  That is where all of the success is…everything up until that point is simply maintenance.  It is that difficult and it is that simple.

Go BIG and make it a POWERFUL week!!!!!
